January 12th Locals Benefit Day at Durango Mountain Resort

to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado, Medicine Horse Center, Sexual Assault Services Organization, and Annie’s Orphans.

Durango, CO – This year’s selected non-profit organizations, the Medicine Horse Center, Sexual Assault Services Organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado and Annie’s Orphans, benefit from all four of the season’s Locals Benefit Days at Durango Mountain Resort. One organization is being featured as the “host” organization each month.

The second Locals Benefit Day at Durango Mountain Resort is Sunday, January 12, 2014 and benefits all four non-profits. The January Locals Benefit Day is hosted by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado. Big Brothers Big Sisters will use the donated funds to support and enhance its new High School Bigs mentoring program, which pairs high school students with elementary school students during supervised after-school settings and activities. The objectives for the program targeting high school students are to instill the value of community engagement, provide career training to young adults interested in education or social work fields and inspire them to be positive role models for younger peers. The goals for the elementary school participants are to increase their self-confidence, improve socialization skills and help them prepare for middle school.

Discounted lift tickets with a Locals Benefit Day coupon are $40 adults; $32 for young adults (ages 13-17) and seniors (65-79); $25 for kids (6-12 years) and super seniors (80+).

Benefit Day ticket purchasers and season pass holders can save more than 30% at the SnowMonster’s Den licensed childcare facility on any of the four Locals Benefit Days by simply showing a season pass or Locals Day Lift Ticket.
