Region 9 Assistant Director Elected to National Association of Development Organization’s Board of Directors

 

Laura Lewis Marchino, Assistant Director with Region 9 Economic Development District has been elected to the National Association of Development Organization’s Board of Directors (NADO).
 
Lewis Marchino is the Assistant Director at the Region 9 Economic Development District.  She has a B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communications and an M.B.A. in Business Administration.
 
Her national resume includes several years on the National Transportation Council of Peers, where she currently serves as Secretary.  She was a Fellow for the German Marshall Fund in 2005 and spent a month in Europe learning about the European Union, and efforts of economic and social collaboration between countries.
 
Close to home, Lewis Marchino was recognized as the 2008 Economic Development Leader of the Year, by the Region 9 Economic Development District Board of Directors, the first time a staff member has been chosen. She serves on the Sexual Assault Services Organization Board of Directors, Southwest Colorado Community College Advisory Board, and Mercy Home Health and Hospice Advisory Board.
 
NADO is a Washington, DC-based association that promotes programs and policies that strengthen local governments, communities and economies through regional cooperation, program delivery and comprehensive strategies.
