One of the popular options for locals and visitors alike is Steamworks Brewing Company. Located at 801 East Second Avenue in downtown Durango, Steamworks is within walking distance of Main Avenue. Since 1996, they have been in business, and consistently been a great place to eat. The menu offers an excellent variety: pizzas, salads, Southwestern dishes, vegetarian, and gluten free options. They also offer a popular Cajun Boil, which is a fun group activity and meal!
Several unique beers grace the menu, as well as some local wine options, along with additional selections. On draft, they offer their three award winning brews: Steam Engine Lager, Colorado Kölsch Ale, and 3rd Eye American Pale Ale. In fact, this year Steamworks won the Silver medal for the signature Colorado Kölsch at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival. This festival had 6,647 entries, and this beer placed silver amongst 111 entries. It is always exciting to see our local breweries receive recognition.
