Monthly meeting to highlight recent business changes throughout the BID
DURANGO, Colo. – The monthly BID Coffee & Conversation (BCC), hosted by the Durango Business Improvement District (BID) will be held Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Durango City Hall. The main topic will be a look at “what’s new” in the District.
All BID constituents, including those on North Main, are encouraged to attend. The BCC was formerly known as What’s Up Downtown.
“We’ve had a lot of changes in the District, including many new businesses,” said Tim Walsworth, BID executive director. “We’re all so busy that we often don’t discover the resources we have right here in our own community right under our nose. This meeting will be an opportunity for community members to get updated.”
An example of the changes, new businesses on Main Ave. include Go Lite and Durango Juice Bar. Animas Chocolate Company has a new retail outlet and Put a Cork In It has moved. New owners have taken over at Durango Olive Oil Company and Thru the Lens, with Ballantine Communications featuring a new organizational structure that includes an expanded web presence and more.
“There is currently very little available retail space left in the BID, and that’s great news,” said Walsworth. “So new businesses that have filled the space will be coming on line, and we want everybody to stay informed. This is all about all of us working together to build a great community.”
In advance of the BCC, Walsworth is also collecting event information. Organizers who wish to inform BCC attendees of their up-coming events are asked to email information to Walsworth, [email protected], by end of business on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
BID Coffee & Conversation is held the second Friday of each month. For further information on the BCC meetings, contact Walsworth at 970.375.5068. To sign up to receive email alerts about up-coming BCC meetings, visit www.downtowndurango.org and click on BID E-News.
