4CORE Hires Permanent Executive Director

Gregg Dubit Accepts Position

Durango, Colo (November 1, 2011): The Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency (4CORE) board of directors has appointed Gregg Dubit as Executive Director starting November 1st. Dubit is replacing founding director Aileen Tracy after three years of dedicated service to the organization. Dubit was appointed Interim Executive Director on July 1st of this year, and prior to that was 4CORE’s Weatherization Assistance Program Manager.

Hired in September of 2009 as the Weatherization Program Manager, Dubit built the 4CORE Weatherization Program under 4CORE’s local management. He implemented a new model for the federal and state-funded Weatherization Program, subcontracting with regional contractors to provide jobs and expand the energy efficiency market for local companies and organizations. Under Dubit’s leadership, 4CORE has overseen free weatherization services for over 350 low-income homes in Archuleta, Montezuma, La Plata, San Juan, and Dolores Counties.

“Gregg has helped 4CORE gain state-wide notoriety in enlisting subcontractors to provide weatherization services,” said Bobbe Jones, 4CORE Board President. “He has proven his leadership abilities by successfully assuring high-quality work and creating jobs for the region. His keen desire to consistently improve makes him the ideal candidate to guide 4CORE.”

Dubit was offered the position after an open hiring process, including rigorous competition and multiple interviews.  He looks forward to building on the successes of 4CORE and working with coalition partners and sponsors to make the organization an even more effective resource efficiency information hub. He will continue the oversight of organizational projects, including the implementation of the five-county Resource and Energy Action Plan, a new Resource Smart Business Program, and a potential expansion of weatherization services to all income levels.

“I am honored to have been selected after a rigorous hiring process and take the responsibilities very seriously,” said Gregg. “I look forward to leading 4CORE’s evolution with a tremendously talented staff and board.”

Dubit has been in Southwest Colorado for over 20 years with wife Gretchen and children Lydia, age 8, and Hayden, age 5.  His previous experience includes commercial energy auditing, residential services network training and certification, residential general contracting, and work in Cortez and Durango teaching high school math and science.
