Web-based Portal Enables Parents To View Their Student’s Academic Progress

Durango School District 9-R announces the launch of the highly anticipated and secure internet-based home-to-school communication tool for parents and students, ParentConnectxp.

James Torres, Executive Director of 9-R Educational Technology, reported that this week each secondary student in 9-R is being provided with a ParentConnectxp account, allowing the student and their parent to securely view class assignments, attendance records, view and print grades, send Email to teachers, and receive alerts on a daily basis. Middle and high school students, and their parents, can access the portal and view additional information by visiting the 9-R Home Page (http://durangoschools.org).

“ParentConnectxp will be a very effective tool,” says Mike Hoyt, Student Information Director for 9-R. “We think having this sort of information easily available for students and their families will help the students stay current on their assignments and improve communications within the family about academic progress. Being able to immediately email the teachers with any questions will make it much easier to address any issues.”

ParentConnectxp is a product of Pearson School Systems, the leading provider of K-12 education solutions for student information management, reporting and analysis.
