CDOT to install signal back-up system US 160 & SH 3 intersection

Power out at intersection for several hours Sunday morning

 

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be installing a battery back-up system in the control cabinet of the traffic signal at the intersection of US 160/550 and SH 3 this Sunday morning. This system will allow the signal to run for approximately two hours without utility power, and minimize the impact on traffic during a power outage.The installation will be underway Sunday morning (December 12) from 7:30 AM through 11:00 AM. During the work, the signals will be off and flaggers will be controlling the intersection. The purpose for this work is to install a battery back-up system in the cabinet. This will allow the traffic signals to run without utility power for two hours.Crews greatly appreciate motorists’ patience and safe driving during these brief traffic upgrades.
