City offices closed Friday, January 1
City Offices to be Closed Friday
Durango, CO – City administrative offices will be closed on Friday, January 1st in observance of New Year’s Day. The following is the schedule:
- City administrative offices will be closed (including offices at City Hall, River City Hall, Police Station and Substation, Transit Center, Recreation Center, and Greenmount Cemetery)
- Tonight, New Years Eve, transit will run its normal schedule. In addition, there will be three buzz buses from 7:00 p.m. until 2:20 a.m. – please call 259-5438 to schedule a ride. There will be no transit service on Friday. Transit will run its regular service on Saturday January 2nd.
- Durango Public Library main branch will be closed Friday, but will reopen on Saturday with regular hours. The branches remain closed this week, but will reopen on January 4th with regular hours.
- Parks and Recreation
- The Recreation Center will be open until noon today and will be closed on Friday.
- The Durango Community Recreation Center will have new hours beginning Saturday, January 2, 2010:
- The Recreation Center will be open until noon today and will be closed on Friday.
Monday – Thursday – 5:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday – 5:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday – 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Sunday – 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

- Chapman Hill Ice Rink will be open today until 4 p.m. and will be closed on Friday.
- Chapman Ski Hill will be open until 4 p.m. today and will be closed on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the ski hill will be open from noon until 7:00 p.m.
- Mason Center will be closed.
- There will be no residential or commercial trash or recycling pick-up on Friday. Those on the Friday trash schedule will be picked up on Saturday. Residential recycling customers on the Friday schedule are asked to hold their recyclables and put them out on Friday, January 8th.
- There will be FREE parking at the meters in the downtown area on Friday.
