City to Hold Public Workshop on the 2011 Budget
The City of Durango has started the process of planning for the 2011 budget and will hold a public workshop this Thursday, August 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall (949 E. 2nd Avenue). In addition to learning more about the City’s budget and budget process, interested citizens are encouraged to bring their ideas and suggestions, which will be considered by the city manager and staff during the budget process. The budget is usually adopted at a City Council meeting in the fall and goes into effect the first of the year.

“The annual budget is more than a financial document, commented City Manager Ron LeBlanc. “It also expresses community and Council priorities, guides City operations, and serves as a communication tool. We encourage the community to send us their innovative ideas and suggestions.”
