COUNTY OFFICES REOPEN ON DEC. 9, 2009

 

Durango, CO – All La Plata County offices will be open for business as usual on Wednesday, December 9, 2009.

 

All primary (paved) county roads are open but snowpacked, and some county roads may be narrow due to drifting and accumulated snow. During winter storms like this one, many of our high-traffic paved roads are plowed and sanded throughout the day and night, as conditions require.  Gravel roads served by motorgraders are generally plowed once per day.  Low volume roads are not plowed until major roadways have been cleared.  County plowing crews will continue to clear roads and monitor conditions throughout the duration of the storm.  Motorists are urged to use caution and allow additional travel time when driving in these winter conditions.
