Durango Nature Studies Holds Fall Volunteer Naturalist Training, September 9, 11, and 12

Durango Nature Studies announces its fall Volunteer Naturalist Training for its Children Discovering Nature Program: September 9, 6-9 pm, September 11 8:30 am-4 pm, and September 12, 8:30am-4 pm.

Join 350 alumni as a fully qualified volunteer naturalist; ready to lead science-based, nature walks with children about topics like habitats, water, plants, insects, and natural history. Volunteers will receive a 200 page manual as part of the training.  Nature walks take place at the beautiful Durango Nature Center along the Florida River.

Naturalists will be trained to lead groups of 8-12 elementary school children on weekday mornings in September and October. No prior experience is necessary, just a love of nature and kids! Becoming a volunteer naturalist is a great way to spend time outdoors, learn the natural history of the area, meet like-minded people, and gain experience teaching.

Durango Nature Studies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nature, science, and environmental education to students and communities of the Four Corners.
