Durango Public Library Collecting Food Donations
Durango, CO – People of all ages are invited to bring nonperishable food donations to Durango Public Library as part of the “Dream Big Food Drive” to benefit the Durango Food Bank. The food drive is part of the library’s annual summer reading program.
The library has already collected more than 100 food items during the month of June, but hopes to reach a grand total of 1,000 items by the end of the food drive on July 28. “Kids and families in Durango love the community and really want to help,” said Youth Services Manager Amadee Ricketts, “I am confident that we will surpass our goal and make a big difference for the food bank.”
Food collection boxes are located inside the front entrance of the library and in the Kids’ Library. Food donations will also be accepted at all summer reading events.
All Durango Public Library programs are free and open to the public.
