Durango Public Library Patrons Make a Difference for Food Bank

Durango, CO – Throughout June and July, Durango Public Library invited people of all ages to bring nonperishable food items to the library to benefit Durango Food Bank as part of the “Dream Big” Summer Reading Program. By the end of July library users donated 564 food items, or more than 300 pounds of food, to help area families.

“We are really impressed with the generosity people have shown,” said Youth Service Manager Amadee Ricketts. “It felt great to deliver the food to the Food Bank and know that it will make a difference to families in our community.”
All Durango Public Library programs are free and open to the public.
