Durango Road Report for the Week of September 14th
Roads:
El Paso Street:
El Paso St. between Roosa and Eastlawn will have periodic lane closures for the week of the 14th
West 2nd Avenue from 22nd Street to 25th Street
West 2nd Avenue between 22nd and 25th Streets will be closed to through traffic as crews continue to replace a waterline and sewer main.
Alley between Main Avenue and East 2nd Ave – gas main replacement
For the week of September 14th, crews will be working in the alley in the 1000 and 1100 blocks. Alleys will be open overnight to allow commercial deliveries.
Bike Lane Painting:
City crews will be repainting bike lane lines Monday thru Thursday along:
- East 3rd Avenue
- East 5th Avenue
- East 3rd Street
- East 8th Street
Streets will be marked “no parking” for at least 24 hours prior to painting.
Metz Lane:
Metz Lane will be closed the week of the 14th as street crews make repairs to the asphalt.
Trail Construction/Closures:
- River and trail access by the High Bridge will be restricted on Monday, the 14th while crews work on an electrical line.
- Rank Park (behind Durango High School) will be sprayed for fall turf fertilization and broad leaf weed abatement.
- The Rim Trail on top of Chapman Hill will be closed for 1-2 weeks as crews install snowmaking equipment at Chapman Hill.
Special Events:
- 500 block of Main Avenue will be closed on Wednesday, the 16th from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. for the Colorado Grand.
- 13th Street will be closed on Saturday, the 19th from 6 a.m. until noon as 1200 bike racers compete in the Single Speed World Championships. Drivers can expect delays along the route of Main Avenue from 13th to 8th Street, East on 8th Street to East 8th Avenue; up East 8th Avenue (front hill); 700 block of Goeglein Gulch crossing point from 11 a.m. until noon.
