Durango Road Report for the Week of September 28th

Roads:
West 2nd Avenue from 22nd Street to 25th Street
West 2nd Avenue between 22nd and 25th Streets will be closed to through traffic as crews continue to replace a waterline and sewer main.  The section between 22nd and 24th Streets will receive asphalt patching – no daytime parking will be permitted in this section as they complete the construction.
           

Alley between Main Avenue and East 2nd Ave – 9th to 12th Streets

For the week of September 28th, crews will work in the alley in the 1000 to 1200 blocks.  Alleys will be open overnight to allow commercial deliveries.

Crestview Drive:
Crestview Drive west of Forest Avenue will be closed, except for local traffic, as city crews replace a sewer line.  No street parking 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
            (Grandview Area) – Mercado, Clear Spring, Sierra Vista & Confluence

Beginning this week, roadways will be under construction for asphalt reconditioning.  Streets will be closed to through traffic and no on-street parking will be permitted during construction.

Trail Construction/Closures:    The Rim Trail is now open again.
Special Events:
         Saturday, Oct. 3rd
·        Main Avenue between 5th and 11th will be closed beginning at 10 a.m. for the Durango Cowboy Gathering parade.  No parking will be allowed along Main beginning at 9:30 a.m.  The 500 block will be closed for parade staging, beginning at 9 a.m.
·        Drivers should watch for runner on Rim Drive, Goeglein Gulch Road, and Fort Lewis Drive from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. for the Journey of Hope.
·        No left turn will be allowed from southbound Highway 550 into the La Plata County Fairgrounds during the Household Hazardous Waste Collection.
