LA PLATA COUNTY CLERK AND RECORDER’S OFFICE ANNOUNCES RELOCATION AND NEW SERVICES
Durango, CO – The La Plata County Clerk and Recorder’s Office will relocate all services offered to citizens from their current location at the La Plata County Courthouse to a new location, at 98 Everett Street, Suite C, in Bodo Park, Durango.
The Clerk’s Office at the Courthouse will be closed on Friday, April 9th, 2010 to facilitate the move, and the office will reopen in its new location adjacent to the Motor Vehicle Registration Office on Monday, April 12th, 2010. The new location will consolidate all statutory functions of the County Clerk’s office in one convenient, central location and will provide ample free parking. All services currently offered at the County Clerk’s present location will be available at the new office including recording, marriage licenses and all elections services including voter registration and early voting.
The County Clerk’s Office also offers some expanded online services, providing greater customer convenience and reducing the need for travel to the office. These expanded online services include “E-Recording,” which allows an individual or business to record documents online. All normal recording fees are applicable, but the online service is free.
In addition, all citizens will benefit from the PaperVision subscription service which will provide online access to most recorded documents. Three levels of subscription service are available through PaperVision for individuals or businesses: a free, view-only subscription available for the occasional user and two levels of enhanced service for the business users.
