La Plata County Road & Bridge Chip and Seal Projects

Durango, CO  The La Plata County Road & Bridge Division will begin their 2011 Chip and Seal of County Roads on Monday, August 1, 2011.  The estimated completion date is Friday, August 12, 2011.  Following is the anticipated schedule:

Monday, August 1 through             County Road 302                        The entire road, from the intersection with

        Friday, August 5                                     Highway 550 to the intersection with Highway 172.

Monday, August 8 through    County Road 210      4.5 miles east from the C.R. 141/210

        Friday, August 12            intersection for a distance of 4.5 miles

Regular working hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane while work is in progress, and a pilot car will be used to safely guide vehicles through the work zone.  Delays of up to 30 minutes should be anticipated; however, every attempt will be made to minimize traffic delays during peak morning and afternoon commuting hours.  Motorists, for their own safety and the safety of the work crews, are encouraged to allow a little extra travel time for their commute and to drive with caution through the work zone.
