LAND USE AND DEVELOPMENT CODE PUBLIC WORKSHOP REGARDING ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS
LAND USE AND DEVELOPMENT CODE PUBLIC WORKSHOP REGARDING ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS
Durango, CO: On May 26, 2010, the City and its consultant team for the Land Use and Development Code Rewrite will be hosting a public workshop on accessory dwelling units. The workshop will be at the Durango CommunityRecreation Center, Eolus and Sunlight Rooms, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
At the workshop, participants will hear a presentation on the alternative forms of accessory dwelling units, their potential impacts on neighborhoods, and ways that those impacts can be addressed through regulation. Then, participants will use keypad polling to give feedback on whether ADUs should be allowed in their neighborhoods, and if so, whether (and which) regulations should be applied to address the potential impacts of the ADUs.
The results of the polls will be provided to the workshop participants “instantly,” and an informal discussion with the participants and project team will follow. The purpose of the polling and discussion is to ensure that the proposed regulations for ADUs in the City’s Land Use and Development Code are based on input from the affected neighborhoods.
