Library Kicks Off Spoken Word Series

Durango, CO –  The Durango Public Library will kick off its Spoken Word Series on Tuesday, September 29 with “Once Upon a Time: Scheherezade and the 1,001 Nights”.  As a tribute to our regional orchestra, the San Juan Symphony, Music Director and Conductor Arthur Post has been invited to give an overview of the 2009-2010 season, entitled “Once Upon a Time”.  Following Mr. Post’s presentation, Colonel Terry and Dinah Swan will portray the Sultan Shahryar and Scheherazade in the ancient story of The Arabian Nights.  The program is from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in Program Rooms 1&2 at the Library.  For more information please call Judith Reynolds at (970) 249-4486 or Judy Hook at (970) 259-2231 or visit the Library’s website at www.durangopubliclibrary.org.
