LPEA/Ska Brewing Co. to host “Bodo Bash” for United Way

As part of its commitment to United Way of Southwest Colorado, La Plata Electric Association (LPEA), in partnership with Ska Brewing Co., will host the third annual “Bodo Bash” for United Way, Wednesday, Oct. 27, 5-7 p.m. at the Ska “world headquarters,” 225 Girard, Durango.

In addition to award-winning brews, the evening will feature entertainment and complimentary appetizers (while they last). One-half of all beer sales during the event will be contributed to the United Way effort.  A donation of $1 at the door (for United Way) is also suggested, but not required.

“We’re also reprising our Pumpkin Bowling,” said Jeannie Bennett, LPEA public relations coordinator who handles community event efforts for the co-op. “It was great fun last year, and will give everyone an opportunity to see Ska’s new outdoor area. We hope a lot of folks stop by for a little Happy Hour cheer and to support United Way.”

In 2009, LPEA – a United Way Pacesetter – raised more than $30,000 for United Way through direct employee contributions and creative fund raisers such as the “Bodo Bash.” Hope is to increase the United Way gift during the 2010 campaign.
