Mountain bike and trail run combination returns to the South Rim

DURANGO, Colo. Durango Parks and Recreation kicks off the 7th Annual South Rim Duathlon, Sunday, May 3, at 10 a.m. from the Sale Barn Trailhead (across from Home Depot). 


The popular trail run and mountain bike race features three different courses: The long course consists of a 6 mile run and an 18 mile bike ride, while the short course includes a 2.5 mile run and a 6 mile bike ride. The kids’ course consists of an 800 meter run and a 1 mile bike ride. 


Pre-registration deadline is Saturday, May 2, by Noon, at the Durango Community Recreation Center. Race day registration and packet pick-up takes place 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Sale Barn Trailhead.


Cost is $35 for an individual registrant or $60 per team. Children 12 and younger race for free.
