Narrow Gauge Avenue to be Closed for Street Repairs
Durango, CO: Beginning on Monday, August 1st, Narrow Gauge Avenue will be closed between 9th and 11th Streets as City crews work to reconstruct the street. This section of Narrow Gauge currently has significant road damage and drainage issues and crews will be removing all existing asphalt, then making repairs and repaving the section. During construction, no parking will be allowed behind the buildings or along the two-block stretch of Narrow Gauge Avenue. Limited access will be allowed for deliveries and trash/recycling pickups. The work is expected to last for two weeks.
Crews will also be making repairs in the 600 block of the commercial alley between Main Avenue and 2nd Avenue (adjacent to the Ore House Restaurant) beginning on Monday. The alley will be closed to parking and through traffic, but limited access will be allowed for deliveries and trash/recycling pickups.
The City of Durango has contracted with Four Corners Materials to complete the repairs on both streets. Questions regarding these repairs may be directed to the City Streets Division at 375-4839.
