Oktoberfest: This Weekend in Durango, CO
Head on down to Main Ave. this weekend to experience all of the festivities of the 7th Annual Oktoberfest. The weekend includes a great music lineup: Alte Kameraden, In a Day, Alpiners, Paper Bird, Mingo FishtrapRobby Overfield, Lawn Chair Klings and Nosotros. Excellent food will be served by Sunnyside Meats, Zia Taqueria, Himalayan Kitchen, and other vendors. Kids entertainment: for just $10, kids have all day access to activities set up by the Durango Discovery Museum and the Children’s Museum of Durango. And what would “Oktoberfest” be without the beer? Carvers, Ska, Durango Brewing Co., and Steamworks will all be pouring delicious, hand-crafted brews. Buy a stein and let the festivities begin!
This is the 7th Oktoberfest in Durango, CO that San Juan Citizens Alliance has hosted. Weekend events will take place on both Sat. 9/25 and Sun 9/26. Events on Main Ave. start at 11am with a special pancake breakfast being served Sunday at 9:30am. The $5 pancake breakfast includes potato pancakes, German sausage, and applesauce… a great way to start your day.
San Juan Citizens Alliance is an environmental and social justice nonprofit. Oktoberfest serves as a fundraiser for SJCA, all funds support the Alliance’s programs. The event is great fun for kids and adults alike, best of all, it’s free to attend.
