Riverhouse Children’s Center to Build New Home Fundraising Campaign Underway

Durango, CO: Riverhouse Children’s Center Board of Directors today announced it will build a new facility on Florida Road, just south of Colorado Avenue. The center is targeted for completion by the end of 2012.

“Thanks to the generosity of a local community member, 1.5 acres was donated to the center for the new building,” said Kim Barker, Riverhouse Board President. “We are engaged in a capital campaign to raise funds needed for construction of the state of the art facility that will allow us to increase capacity and serve the community’s needs for years to come.”

Riverhouse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit early childhood development center, providing care and early education services for children from six weeks through five years old.

“A project of this size and importance is only possible through the generous support of our community leaders, businesses, and individuals,” Barker said. “We are extremely grateful for the support of MercuryGives, the philanthropic arm of Mercury Payment Systems, for granting Riverhouse $25,000 to support this effort.”

Riverhouse began providing early childhood education and care to Southwest Colorado in 2002, and has served more than 600 children.
