The D&SNGRR is scheduled to resume service to Silverton on Sunday August 7th!

Heavy rainfall in the San Juan Mountains caused a large rockslide on August 2, 2011 that interrupted our regular service to Silverton. Railroad Maintenance of Way crews have successfully removed enough rock and debris that service to Silverton has been scheduled to begin again on Sunday August 7th. The two trains that were not able to return to Durango will be brought back from Silverton today, Saturday, August 6, 2011.

Now is a great time for a train trip to Silverton to see the ongoing work to clear the remains of the rockslide that closed the tracks to Silverton for 4 days.
