Tickets still available for Ginny Hutchins fundraiser at Fort Lewis College

DURANGO – Tickets are still available for “Hearts and Hands for Ginny: A Fundraiser for Ginny Hutchins.” The fundraiser will take place Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Ginny Hutchins, a professor at Fort Lewis College was recently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor known as a glioblastoma. She underwent surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, and will continue radiation in Denver and chemotherapy in Houston. Ginny and her husband, Jim, a nurse at Mercy Medical Center, are the parents of Megan, 4, and Emma, 20 months.

A silent auction along with food donated from local businesses; her church, First Presbyterian; and others will be offered. There will be a bounce house and children’s events. Music from Ten Jack High, the First Presbyterian Handbell Choir (which Ginny is a member) and the Westwind Pipe Band will also be featured.
