US 160 construction – travel update
DAYTIME PAVING SCHEDULE: During the week of July 6 (and possibly into the week of July 13, should rain impact progress), work will be done to pave the top mat on all four lanes of US 160 through this work zone west of C & J Gravel.
Work hours will be the following:
MONDAY-FRIDAY: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (traffic control will be picked up and traffic stops will end by 3 p.m. each day, but other work in the closed lanes could cause traffic slowing until 5 p.m.).
SATURDAY: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Delays for paving will vary depending upon traffic queues, but motorists should add at least 20 minutes to their commutes during work hours.
NIGHTTIME WORK: Motorists will encounter lane closures on Monday, July 6, and possibly additional nights during the week (depending upon weather) from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for striping and installation of signal loop detectors. (On dates yet to be scheduled, there will also be full closures of US 160 for several hours at night for removal of remaining bridge false work.)
Watch for information on electronic Variable Message Signs or on www.dot.state.co.us/us160durango.
BODO CONCRETE RECONSTRUCTION:
Drainage improvements will continue on the west-side frontage road, primarily impacting traffic at Suttle and Turner drives; there is full access at these intersections, however. On US 160 mainline, work will begin on the installation of the raised concrete median through Bodo. Also, work such as concrete sealing, signal pole work, striping may cause minor impacts in other areas but generally, four lanes of traffic are kept moving. Work hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
