US 160 Grandview 4th Lane & Interchange Update

Summary:

Full nighttime closures on US 160, June 7 through 11.


LA PLATA COUNTY – US 160 will be CLOSED between US 550 (Farmington Hill) and High Llama Lane June 7 through 11, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.



The closure will allow for the safe removal of temporary false work (support structures) for the US 160 overpass. Alternate routes are advised.



PROJECT INFORMATION


The Colorado Department of Transportation is moving forward to complete the US 160 Grandview interchange, designed to meet safety and capacity needs along the corridor in 2025 and beyond. Construction on the fourth lane (a second westbound lane into Durango) and partial interchange now underway began in July of 2008 and is scheduled for completion by the fall of 2010.



ANTICIPATED UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES



  • Retaining wall construction on north side of US 160: finishing in June
  • Earthwork for eastbound Ramp A, south side of US 160: continuing
  • Earthwork for 4th lane on north side of US 160: continuing
  • Roadway milling and paving of US 160 begins mid-June

TRAFFIC IMPACTS


Aside from the June night closures, lane closures/restrictions on US 160 between Farmington Hill and Grandview may be as follows:



  • Daytime traffic may be reduced to one lane in each direction between the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm.
  • Nighttime traffic may be reduced to one lane in each direction between the hours of 6:30pm and 6:30am.
