Purgatory gets Pounded with 31 Inches of Powder!

More Snow on Horizon for the End of the Week!

DURANGO, Colo. – Mother Nature delivered 31 inches of snow at Purgatory over 48 hours, starting Sunday morning. Additional snow is in the forecast for Purgatory later this week and through the weekend.

“The snow was rich with moisture, providing great coverage across the mountain,” stated Greg Ralph, vice president of Sales & Marketing. “There’s still plenty of powder stashes to be found.”

Year to date snowfall is 112 inches with a mid-mountain base depth of 57 inches. Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is 100 percent open with access to 88 trails.

“With this recent storm, we started measuring in feet rather than inches, which is phenomenal,” stated Ralph. “The recent snowfall coupled with more expected this weekend sets Purgatory up for a fantastic spring break period for the month of March.”

Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort’s regular season operation schedule goes through April 5, 2015. Decisions to extend the season will be made at the end of March and is weather dependent.
