You might have noticed some extra special decorations at local TBK bank locations around town. Trees or garlands decorated with little angels. The angel trees are part of TBK Bank’s Family Holiday Drive, a partnership with Housing Solutions of Southwest Colorado to make the holidays a little extra special for 15 local families. We work with housing solutions in Southwest Colorado to identify 15 families that could use support through the holidays. And we have engaged with all of our branches to put up trees where you can get angel trees gifts and choose things. We can accept donations through housing fund, a Southwest Colorado, in the branches themselves.
The angel trees are located in all TBK locations in Durango and Bayfield. To participate in the Angel Tree Project, simply stop by and pick up an angel or two from one of the displays. Each angel notes donations or needs of the families, and you can donate those items back to any of the TBK bank branches.
We have an account set up, so you just go in and say, you want to donate to the Holiday Family Drive. So any location in Bayfield or Durango can take your donation as well as adopting off the trees. And online is another option. So if you’re not in our TBK branches, you can come or click on the link that’s in this video and shop online.
TBK Bank prides itself on its involvement within the community and has over the last few years provided support to families and nonprofits in the community through various programs.
That’s a passion of mine. I did this for years prior in some other roles and helping families, and it just it warms my heart, fills my cup, and it’s a need that we definitely have, some of our old programs that we have, like Project Merry Christmas. It’s not around anymore. So I definitely felt like this was lacking and I figured it would be a great opportunity for TBK to pick it up and hopefully we can just expand on it every year going forward and make it just huge for our community.
The campaign has already started, but it’s not too late to be a part of the event. Any gift is welcome and the drive goes until Friday, December 16, to ensure all gifts make it to the families before Christmas.
You know, I think often during the holidays, people want to do something to help and support others who may not be as fortunate and yet may not always know how to go about doing that. And we wanted to provide an opportunity where people can do that, you know, easily through the link in the website or through, you know, visiting our branches and making a donation or adopting a family from the trees.
You are invited to join TBK Bank for a holiday party to celebrate on December 14th that will feature Santa, cookies and hot cocoa from 3 to 5 p.m.. It’s also a great time to drop off any donations or pick up a last minute angel from the tree.
