City Offers LEGO Robotics Demonstration and Workshop

Durango, CO: The Durango Public Library will host Alpine Educational Associates for a hands-on demonstration of LEGO robotics on December 13-14, 2011 from 3-6pm in the lobby.

Using a few sensors and motors and a central processor, fully programmable robots can be built in an amazing variety of configurations. More than just a high-tech toy, the Lego NXT system can be used to do real science and form the basis of many data collection exercises from elementary school through college level courses. Stop in and take a look at these amazing LEGO robots!

If you are interested in more comprehensive work with Lego Roboitcs, sign up for the week long program being held at the Durango Community Recreation Center December 19 – 23. Classes will be held Monday through Friday with the option of a 9:00am – 12:00pm class or a 1:00pm-4:00pm class.

The cost is $150 for the week and is open to youth 9 to 19 years of age.
