FLC Native American Center hires student math and science advisor

DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College Native American Center (NAC) has welcomed Elizabeth (Liz) Perrault as the new Native American math and science advisor. Her position is part of the Title III Federal Grant in Biology.



Perrault is a 2005 cum laude graduate of FLC where she majored in Biochemistry, and was a member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society. She is currently on leave from her doctoral studies at CSU in Cellular and Molecular Biology where her research focuses on bioremediation of mining influenced water.



As a new member of the Native American Center, Perrault will work with math and science students to increase their success and understanding in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). She will work closely with Lisa Dyson (NAC enrichment advisor) and Ke-niah-kiw Weso (NAC academic advisor) and with faculty in the Biology, Math, Physics and Engineering and Chemistry departments.
