Fort Lewis College offering course in social work, psychology for community members


DURANGO – Interested in learning what social workers and counselors do? Considering a career that combines clinical and community theory and practice? Fort Lewis College is offering a course called “Introduction to Clinical Theories” during the Winter 2012 semester. The three-credit course will cover such topics as theories in social work and clinical psychology, values and ethics in practice, and career opportunities in these fields.

The course is available to community members who apply to the College as a non-degree seeking student. Previous completion of an introductory psychology course and at least one semester of college-level writing are required. The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:20 p.m. starting January 10, 2012.
