Fort Lewis College planning events to mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11
DURANGO – Fort Lewis College will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks with two special events.
First, the FLC Republicans and the FLC American Indian Business Leaders will create a memorial display out of American flags at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, September 9. The flags will honor those killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, as well as United 93 that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
Also on September 9, beginning at 9 a.m., will be a Peace Labyrinth at the Fort Lewis College Clocktower. The Peace Labyrinth will give participants a chance to walk a special path and reflect on the events of 9/11. The FLC Newman Club and the Center for Light in Dolores are sponsoring the event, which will run until 2 p.m.
The American flag display and the Peace Labyrinth are both free and open to the public.
