Life-Long Learning examines past and present of West Nile virus
Durango, CO – The Life-Long Learning Lecture Series at Fort Lewis College presents “West Nile Virus – Its History in the United States and Current Concerns” by Dr. Don Bruning on Thursday, September 26 at 7 p.m. This free presentation will be held in Noble Hall, Rm. 130 and is open to everyone.
Most people have heard of the West Nile virus and its destructive effects in various parts of our country in the past, but many are not aware of the continued concerns posed by this rapidly mutating disease, which is viewed by the U.S. military as a potential terrorist threat and for which there is still no vaccine for humans.
Come learn more about the origins, spread, and long-term effects of this persistent virus from Dr. Don Bruning, who spent 37 years working for the Wildlife Conservation Society and has consulted with numerous governments around the world concerning zoological-related issues and challenges.
