“Taco Night” on Sept. 6 to benefit Durango Early Learning Center

DURANGO, Colo. – Steamworks Brewing Co. will host a special “Taco Night” on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, to help raise much-needed funds for the Durango Early Learning Center (DELC). All ages are invited to the event to be held in the Steamworks Courtyard, 4-7 p.m.

“I’ve seen the great work done at the Center as both my children had the privilege to attend,” said Kris Oyler, Steamworks co-founder. “As we all know, budgets are tight these days, so we hope everyone comes out for some great tacos and hand-crafted beer – or our root beer for the kids – and support the Early Learning Center. We’ll also have plenty of activities for the kids.”

The $3 happy hour pints will be poured by three Steamworks staff members who helped open the brewpub in 1996: Oyler, Julie “Breckel” (Thibodeaux), and Trish Lemke. Steamworks officially celebrates its 15th Anniversary on Sept. 14, 2011.

Admission is $10 ($5 for children) and includes the sumptuous, all-you-can-eat Taco Bar. Fifty percent of beer sales, and a portion of admission, will be given to the DELC.

The Durango Early Learning Center, located on 3rd Ave. in Durango, offers toddler and preschool early childhood development. Its mission is, in collaboration with parents and the community, to help preschool children achieve their maximum level of development and build a positive sense of self and community by encouraging them to become creative problem solvers and critical thinkers.
