This Week is Colorado Craft Beer Week!

This week is Colorado Craft Beer Week (March 18-25). The events of the week are hosted by the Colorado Brewers Guild, which is a nonprofit organization to promote and protect Colorado’s craft brewing industry. Durango is full of craft beer! This is the perfect opportunity to highlight one of the local favorites, Ska Brewing.

Ska Brewery is a local company that has been making beer since 1995, and was co-founded by Bill Graham and Dave Thibodeau. You’ll find their selections all over town and in several other states. Some of the most popular brews are:  Modus Hoperandi IPA, Butter Nut Brown Ale, True Blonde Ale, and Pils World Craft Lager. They also offer various specials, such as a selection for Snowdown, or a choice for the Durango Film Festival.

In addition to brewing their beers in Durango, Ska serves food in The Container of Food. This is a building built from repurposed shipping containers, and located onsite the Ska Brewing World Headquarters (225 Girard Street, Durango). The menu includes local and fresh selections including: small plates, pizzas, sandwiches, and salads, and of course beer choices as well. They even have live music on Thursdays!

And, the time of the year many locals wait for is upon us: Ska is about to release their summer brew: Mexican Logger. This is a favorite around Durango, and Ska will actually have a release party on April 5 at The Container of Food. They’ll have beer and food specials, as well as live music.

We love having such a craft beer company like Ska in our own backyard! Take a look at the Ska website for more information: http://skabrewing.com/the-brew/
