16TH ANNUAL JOURNEY OF HOPE 5K FAMILY RUN/WALK TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2010

 

The 16th Annual Journey of Hope 5K Family Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, 1010 Three Springs Blvd., Durango. This is a new location for the event.  The race will start at the Mercy Regional Breast Care Center and the race will take place on the scenic trails of Three Springs. 

 

The Journey of Hope 5K is a heartwarming family event that honors those women and their families whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. The event is sponsored by Durango Motorless Transit, the Women’s Health Coalition of Southwest Colorado, Mercy Health Foundation, the City of Durango Parks and Recreation Dept. and Sunshine Gardens Senior Community.

 

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Walkers start at 9:00 a.m. and runners start at 9:15 a.m.  Entry fee is $20 for adults ($18 for Durango Motorless Transit members) and includes a commemorative gift.  Children under 12 are free (or $20 if race commemorative is desired).  Pre-registration is strongly encouraged!  Applications can be obtained at Brown’s Sport Shoe or the Mercy Health Foundation office, or by visiting the Durango Motorless Transit website at http://go-dmt.org.
