Durango Chamber OF Commerce Going Greener

Durango, CO – The Durango Chamber of Commerce recently announced plans to “go greener” by converting its monthly printed newsletter to a full color electronic version. Survey results of the membership indicated members were interested in a more streamlined approach to receiving information and this new electronic newsletter is the result.

The e-newsletter will be sent to all 800+ members via email beginning in September. According to Jack Llewellyn, Executive Director of the Durango Chamber of Commerce, “this change gives us a chance to upgrade to a full color newsletter that will be available to a larger audience, which in turn gives our advertisers more bang for their buck. The e- newsletter will be available and archived on the chamber website www.durangobusiness.org making it available for all community members to access. We will also be able to now track “open rates” giving us better statistics to share with our members and advertisers”.

The Durango Chamber of Commerce has been “greening up” for the past two years by buying all green power from La Plata Electric, replacing all of the light bulbs with CFL’s in the Chamber building in Santa Rita Park, completing an energy audit and processing all invoices electronically. The e-newsletter is just another step in the “going green” process.
