LPEA Outage Hotline

Durango, CO – With turbulent winds expected across the region today (Friday, May 25, 2012) and into the weekend, plus warnings of a high fire danger, La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) has stepped up its plans for safety when attending to any outages that may occur. As a result, outages due to downed power lines or trees fallen through the lines may be longer in duration than typical, as crews will take extra measures to ensure no fires are sparked when a line is reenergized following repairs.

LPEA asks customers to be vigilant and if they do see an electrical line on the ground, potentially interacting with dry brush or other flammable materials, to promptly call 911 as well as LPEA (970)247-5786.

LPEA will make every effort to keep customers informed in the event of extended outages via the Outage Management System voice messaging at (970)247-5786. Customers can also follow LPEA on Twitter.com.
