December/Year-End La Plata County Residential Sales Numbers

 

This week we have the December/year-end numbers for 2018. With 76 total sales for the month of December, it was a decent month, although slightly lower than several recent December transaction totals, and also lower than the total number of sales for December 2017.

With 1,155 total sales for the year, it was a solid year, although still slightly behind the total for 2017. Still, this has been the second-highest total number of transactions since prior to 2010 (which is the data on this report).

At $387,500, the median sales price is higher than any year since prior to 2010. The average days on the market is lower than any year since prior to 2010. We again note the high median sales price, fast sales cycle, and large number of transactions.

Overall 2018 shaped up to be a very good year even with the 416 fire. We are anticipating another good year in 2019. Next week we will dig into more detail the different market segments, different areas, and price points in La Plata County.
