May La Plata County Residential Real Estate Numbers

This week we have the latest La Plata County residential real estate transactions for the month of May. With 111 total sales, it was an increase from the month of April, and the highest total number of sales in 2019. It was slightly lower than the number of transactions from the last couple of years in May, although comparable to several of the previous years.

Year to date, we are at 396 total sales. Last year at this time the total was 416 sales. This continues the trend we’ve noted this year: a slight decrease from the previous year, but still a solid amount of real estate transactions.

The median sales price is $383,500 compared to last year’s median sales price of $387,500. The average days on the market thus far is 136 compared to 127 in 2018. Again, there is a slower sales cycle and slight drop in median sales price, placing the market behind 2018 at this point. The summer months tend to be the peak time of the year for La Plata County real estate, so we anticipate the next few months will remain strong. As always, we are available for any questions you may have on the state of the market. This weekend, we will be hosting several open houses: Saturday from 11-1 at 214 Trimble Crossing Drive, Saturday from 10-12 at 1236 E. 4th Avenue, and Saturday from 1-3 at 344 Jenkins Ranch Road. We would love you to stop by and say hello and see these beautiful properties.
