November La Plata County Real Estate Numbers

hhouseNovember La Plata County Real Estate Results are in, and we have good news! This November saw a higher number of real estate transactions than any year since before 2009! We expected a more solid November than last year, but it is certainly exciting to see such strong results, especially so late in the year.

Year to date, we are at a 1,052 total transactions compared to 1,018 last year at this time. By these numbers, it appears that 2016 will indeed be a stronger real estate year than 2015, which comes as a bit of a surprise based on the trends we have seen for the majority of the year.

In terms of median price, we continue to see the same trend that we have seen for most of the year: a higher median price than any year since prior to 2009. At $354, 950.00, this median price reflects well on the home values in our area. In addition, the average days on the market remains lower than any year since 2009, indicating that the sales cycle goes more quickly. So, with a high median price and fast sales cycle, we certainly see a strong La Plata County real estate market.

While the month of December is one of our slower months, we anticipate the final results will still yield sales that will push the year’s total over last year’s totals. If you have any questions or would like a market analysis on your home, please let us know. This is a great time of year to start gearing up for the spring selling season.
