Durango Announces Open Karate Tournament

Durango, CO: The Durango Karate Club and Durango Parks & Recreation are pleased to announce the 2012 Durango Open Karate Tournament. The tournament will be held on Saturday, May 5th at Escalante Middle School. Events include white belt through black belt divisions in kata, weapons kata, kumite (sparring) and team kumite. Top competitors receive trophies, medals or Grand Champion trophies.

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the competition begins at 10:30. There will be a meeting at 10 a.m. for all black, brown, and red belts. The cost to participate in all the events is $25 at the door – spectators get in free. All ages are welcome.
