Purgatory’s Season Kicks off Friday, Nov. 25


DURANGO, Colo. – Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort will kick off its winter season this Friday, Nov. 25 and will be open 9 am to 4 pm Friday, Nov. 25 through Sunday, Nov. 27.

This weekend, Purgatory will have top-to-bottom skiing and riding off the Purgatory Village Express Lift with trails open that are adjacent to Lift 2, down Demon to the base. Other trails that will be open include Limbo, Westfork, Sa’s Psyche and more. The mid-mountain snow depth is 22 inches, with snow in the forecast.

Discounted lift tickets are available Friday through Sunday. Prices are $43 adults; $33 students (13 yrs – high school) and seniors (65-69 yrs); and $23 kids (6-12 yrs) and goldens (70+ yrs). Season passes, as well as weekday passes will be honored this Friday and all weekend.

Durango Mountain Resort will temporarily suspend operations on Monday, Nov. 28 to allow its snowmaking and grooming team to operate at maximum capacity throughout the week, ensuring the best possible terrain offerings when operations resume on Friday, Dec. 2 through Dec. 4. Purgatory will be open on weekends only (Fridays through Sundays) until conditions permit daily operations, most likely around mid-December.

This weekend, Purgy’s Restaurant will be open 11am to 9pm for lunch, après ski and dinner (on Sunday, Purgy’s is open until 4pm). Village Market and Deli will be open from 8am to 6pm. Shops in Purgatory Village Plaza will also be open 8am to 5pm.
