DURANGO, Colo. – Runners, joggers, hikers and more are invited to participate in the Durango Parks and Recreation annual Mountain Park Classic Trail Race Saturday, July 11, 2009.
As the second race in the Town Series sponsored by 1st National Bank of Durango, the Mountain Park Classic boasts 7-mile, 4-mile, and 1-mile courses through the Mountain Park. Rarely flat, the courses offer numerous steep climbs and descents, making the event one of the most exciting foot trail races in the Southwest.
Early event registration is available through Sunday, July 5th at 6 p.m. Early registration fee is $15. Late registration for the event continues until Friday, July 10 at 12 noon and is $20. Race day registration will also be available. Participants may register at the Durango Community Recreation Center or on-line at www.active.com.
The race begins at 8 a.m. at Chinook Medical Gear headquarters (120 Rock Point Drive in the Tech Center). Race day registration and packet pick-up takes place 7 – 7:45 a.m. Water and aid stations will be located along the 7 and 4-mile courses.
