PURGATORY TO HOST SECOND LOCALS DAY TO BENEFIT AREA CHARITIES

Sunday’s event is the fourth in a series of 18 discount days for local residents and families.

Durango, CO – Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is pleased to announce the second Locals Day of the season, this Sunday, Jan. 10. Lift tickets will be sold at the discounted rate of $39 for adults and $25 for children, with a coupon printed in this week’s Durango Telegraph and online at KSUT.org and Buzztown.com.

Portions of the day’s lift-ticket proceeds will be donated to KSUT public radio, in support of the station’s efforts to reach more listeners, and to Country Kids With Cancer, in support of Barry “Carmine” Kemler’s daughter Caitlin, who is being treated in Denver for a life-threatening illness. Country Kids With Cancer is a 501(c)3 organization that provides financial assistance to young people who live in rural areas and are fighting cancer.

“This Sunday’s Locals Day is the fourth in this season’s expanded series of 18 discounted events for Durango-area citizens,” said Sven Brunso, vice president of sales and marketing for Durango Mountain Resort. “It’s part of our ongoing effort to make skiing and riding more accessible to the residents and families of our community, while also supporting our local non-profits and charities.”

Other events in Purgatory’s locals’ lineup are: College Days, with discounted $29 lift tickets with a valid college ID; the Friday Afternoon Club, which features $39 half-day lift tickets and a Meal Deal at Purgy’s or $59 for a half-day ticket, Meal Deal and demo ski/boot package; and the Family Fun Pack of four lift tickets (two adults and two children under 12) for $99 per family, or $139 per family with rentals. Coupons are required for both the Friday Afternoon Club and the Family Fun Pack and can be downloaded at www.durangomountainresort.com/locals.
