Recreation Center’s Leisure Pool to Receive Facelift

Durango, CO:  The leisure pool at the Durango Community Recreation Center will be closed Wednesday, September 7 through Friday, September 9 to install new play features. The leisure pool will open to the public on Saturday, September 10 at 8:00 a.m. with a brand new, exciting look.

The Durango Community Recreation Center will host a grand opening pool party for the community on Friday, September 16 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. The community is invited to swim and play on the new play features in the leisure pool during the party.  Popsicles will be served to all of the children in attendance.

Swim lessons scheduled for Wednesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 8 will be cancelled.  Swim lessons will resume on Monday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 13, as scheduled.  In order to make up for the cancelled classes, swim lessons will be extended for an additional session and end on Monday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 4, respectively.

The City of Durango is committed to providing high-quality facilities for the community.  The Center’s leisure pool area will undergo a major facelift during the three day closure.   We apologize for any inconvenience and thank the community for its patience, while the new play features are installed.
