USA Pro Challenge Community Open House
Thursday, July 19 at Rochester Hotel, Meet Your Local Organizing Committee
Durango, CO – With the 2012 Pro Challenge start date just a little over a month away, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), consisting of over 30 volunteer co-chairs of various committees, are working tirelessly to make sure Durango, Colorado hosts the best Overall Start for the largest bike race on American Soil. To learn more about those activities and the race, and meet your LOC, a Community Open House is being held Thursday, July 19, 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Rochester Hotel in Durango at 726 East 2nd Avenue. LOC Co-Chairs, Sherri Dugdale and Mary Monroe, will be guest bartending and look forward to talking with the community.
“We know there are a lot of questions circulating about the Pro Challenge,” said Sherri Dugdale. “The Open House is an opportunity for the public to come and have those questions answered, and to have some fun in celebration of such a big event taking place in our area of the world.”
“The Pro Challenge is going to be economically very beneficial to southwest Colorado during race weekend and into the future due to this international TV exposure on NBC, and NBC Sports,” adds Mary Monroe. “We want to be sure that our residents understand why, and also are aware of all that will be happening during the race weekend-it’s going to be extremely exciting and simply a lot of fun.”
The Open House is open to the public-attendees will be able to ask questions about the race, enter to win Pro Challenge merchandise prizes, and meet Durango’s LOC for the USA Pro Challenge.
