Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year!

The Year of the Metal Tiger begins February 14th!

As we bid farewell to the year of the Earth Ox, which seemed to consist of
fields in constant need of plowing without much to show for all the hard
work, the year of the Metal Tiger is a welcomed transition. The stage is
set, the fields are plowed, the seeds are sown, the crouching tiger is
ready to spring into action.

The Tiger corresponds to hexagram 11 of the I Ching. In this hexagram we
find Heaven above and Earth below. Things are as they should be. If we can
allow ourselves to be an expression of Original Nature, that is to say
Truth, Authenticity, and Integrity, then the seeds we’ve planted will
sprout and grow with an unobstructed path to the light. We will be
supported in moving forward with the courage of a Tiger and the focused
clarity of polished Metal.

However, if we struggle against the flow and try to force our will upon
the Original Nature of things, if we are unable to communicate clearly and
act with honesty in our daily lives, then we are as weeds in the fields
spoiling the work that has been done before it can come to fruition. And
as weeds we will be treated as such. The energy of Metal is like a blade
that cuts away what seeks to stand against the flow and leaves it to be
devoured by the righteous jaw of a Tiger who has no patience for the
justifying rationalizations of self centered narcissism.

In the coming year keep your Metal from becoming tarnished and rusty by
polishing it with honesty and integrity in your words and actions so that
it may be used to cut away that which no longer serves. Harness the power
of the Tiger by moving forward decisively with clear intentions so that
the gap between who we are and who we would like to be may draw closer and
closer until they are one and the same. Know that everything is as it
should be and if we can get out of our own way and allow ourselves to be
carried by the flow we will find ourselves exactly where we need to
be.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
